We're the main sponsor to two County Cricket teams: Durham and Middlesex. You'll spot the Northern Rock emblem in the County Championships, National Cricket One Day League, Friends Provident Trophy and the 20:20 Leagues.
Durham is the newest English County team. They play at the Riverside, the first new Test venue in over a hundred years. Durham's international stars include local lad and England One Day Captain Paul Collingwood. The team competed in and won their first final in 2007, beating Hampshire to claim the Friends Provident Trophy.
Lords, the historic home of cricket is also home to Middlesex County Cricket Club. One of the most successful County sides of recent times, Middlesex can count Dennis Compton, Angus Fraser and Mike Gatting amongst its past stars. The future looks bright too, with England star Andrew Strauss and a host of young players like Owais Shah, Ed Joyce and Melvyn Betts.
